Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone

Looking east from the Yellowstone Lower Falls north rim you see this breathtaking view of the Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone. I applied the classic orange and teal color grading to this photo to give it a western movie look. Edited in Lightroom. August 2021.

An iconic Yellowstone photo! Yellowstone Lower Falls rom the “Lower Lookout Point” in Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone. It was a steep hike down hundreds of feet but the view was totally worth it. An HDR panorama composed from multiple exposures. August 2021.

Macro – high speed flash

Small things look great with a long focal length lens and high speed flash to darken the background. Here’s my experiment with a small pearl necklace in a box. I set it up on a table top with a black cloth, 4 Godox TT685 flashes using a wireless trigger, and Nikon Z 6 with a Nikkor Z 24-200mm lens.

The Palouse River runs through a narrow cataract and drops 200 feet to a churning bowl. From there, the current moves swiftly, through a winding gorge of columnar basalt, to its southern end at the mighty Snake River. Photo shot with iPhone 12 Pro Max.
